Paul Maseyk // potter // Taranaki
It's so awesome to see a friend make such beautiful art. Paul is a potter and has typically used a gas fire kiln, but he mixed it up this time. A month or so ago he began to build a wood fire kiln in his back yard. These images are from the first firing in his new kiln. I have to say this might be my favourite of Paul's work so far. Keep it up Paul - you my friend are making some magic.
Fields of Gold // California Family
I love this family. Maybe because they are part of my family or maybe because they are the sweetest little crew of four - I simply love each of them for their special presence on this earth. Thanks family for having me around. My time with you is always bittersweet. I'm so happy to be there with you guys and then again so sad that I have to say goodbye. Missing you everyday!xx
Arielle Mermin // Taranaki Fashion Label
For the first time I photographed a fashion label. Designer Arielle Mermin asked me to join her and local beauty Freyja for a relaxed photoshoot in South Taranaki. I could not have asked for better weather, light and people to work with. The entire day was sprinkled with magic. To view Arielle's clothing line click here
Family. Costa Rica.
Every few years we all try to come together. This was one of those years! Yahoo! I'm one of five and it isn't the easiest to get everyone in one place at the same time. Luckily, brother Patrick put the idea into action and we all met up in Marbella, Costa Rica.I love love love my family - each of us are so similar yet polar opposites. It's what makes us MAGIC!Thank you Patrick, Ryan, Shannon, E, Pay Pay, Sascha, Roo, Kevin, Mama and mostly to Danny for making this happen. This was the best way to end 2015 - with family.
New life and a Full Moon
Sister Sascha is growing baby number two! I could't be more excited to welcome this little one into the world sometime in March/April. This impromptu full moon baby belly photo happened on the beach a few days before Christmas. What I would give to be back in this moment!Sascha I love you and am crossing my fingers for a little girl - but if it happens to be a boy I hope he turns out just like Roo!
Family Time is the Best of Times
My plans changed. I was due to jump on a flight two weeks ago and return to New Plymouth after 3 weeks of long overdue family visits and urologist appointments. But I didn’t. Instead I jumped in a car and headed to Northern California to lend a helping hand. My sister in law, Sascha, is pregnant with her 2nd and has fallen ill and was looking for someone to help care for her 2 year old - Rooney. I couldn’t help but think back to when I was so ill and how much it would have meant to have a family member by my side. So, I am here for now being a nurse/nanny and loving the time with my brother, his wife - one of my dearest friends and little Rooney.Time and love is something you can never get back. I am happy to be able to give both. Selflessly.
Gina & Simon - Back Beach Taranaki Wedding
I met this beautiful human Gina three years ago when I moved to New Plymouth. Instant friend! Through the years it has been great having her love and support so when she asked me to photograph her wedding to her man Simon I could’t have been more excited. These two had a casual gathering on the lawn above Back Beach. It was such a perfect setting for these two water babies - ocean, friends, flowers, pearls and…….cats! (Gina and I spend most of our time talking about cats, dreaming of new kitten and sending each other videos of cats doing cute things)
Gina and Simon - it was such fun for me to photograph your wedding day! Thank you so much for having me along. I loved dancing the night away with you two and really really loved Dave’s serenade of Robbie Williams to close the night. AMAZING! Thank you for fabulous memory!
